A dynamic transformation method for modal synthesis

14th Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials Conference, 1973
This paper presents a condensation method for large discrete parameter vibration analysis of complex structures that greatly reduces truncation errors and provides accurate definition of modes in a selected frequency range. A dynamic transformation is obtained from the partitioned equations of motion that relates modes not explicity in the condensed ...

Modality Disentangled Discriminator for Text-to-Image Synthesis

IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2022
Text-to-image (T2I) synthesis aims at generating photo-realistic images from text descriptions, which is a particularly important task in bridging vision and language. Each generated image consists of two parts: the content part related to the text and the style part irrelevant to the text.

MODAL SYNTHESIS OF TWO-INPUT SYSTEMS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1991
Abstract The method of modal synthesis via constant output feedback of a two-input, n-state, and k-output system is presented. It is based on the solution of the set of n linear-quadratic algebraic equations in which the only non-linear terms are the second-degree minors of the output feedback matrix.

A Survey of Modal Synthesis Methods

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1971
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Several modal synthesis procedures for the dynamic analysis of large composite structural systems are surveyed. The matrix formulation of the free-free modal synthesis procedures is presented. Also given are schematic flow charts of the analysis procedure used in three prominent methods.

Modal Synthesis Modal Correction — Modal Coupling

1982
Modal synthesis is a technical term closely related to the development of the finite element technique. Especially in dealing with large structural systems with some thousand physical degrees of freedom, modal synthesis has proved to be an efficient means to reduce computational errors and to minimize computer costs by decomposing the system into ...

Generating Models for Modal Synthesis

Computer Music Journal, 1993
The goal of the work described here is to create synthesized musical sounds while simultaneously restoring the various auditory and sensorimotor aspects of instrumental performance to the user. To meet these demands, we have been led to sound synthesis by physical modeling.

On three modal synthesis variants

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1983
Summary: A unified formulation of fixed, free and loaded interface variants of modal synthesis is presented. A formal proof of the exactness of all three variants in the absence of modal truncation is established. The sensitivity of the truncation error to the different interface conditions is studied.

Fast modal synthesis by digital waveguide extraction

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2006
From a modal synthesis point of view, digital waveguides allow the efficient synthesis of harmonically spaced components for a fixed number of arithmetic operations. They are thus well suited to audio synthesis based on one-dimensional physical models (such as strings or tubes) that possess nearly harmonic spectra.
