Carbon Nanotube Mode-Locked Thulium Fiber Laser With 200 nm Tuning Range

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
We demonstrated a mode-locked thulium/holmium (Tm/Ho) fiber laser continuously tunable across 200 nm (from 1860 nm to 2060 nm), which to the best of our knowledge represents the widest tuning range ever achieved for a passively mode-locked fiber laser ...

Non‐Destructive Laser Nanopatterning of Superconducting Heterostructures in Topological Sn Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate successful fabrication of high‐quality α‐Sn/β‐Sn planar nanostructures with arbitrary shapes by focused laser irradiation on topological Dirac semimetal α‐Sn thin films. The irradiated regions transform into atomically smooth, superconducting β‐Sn with a critical temperature of 3.7 K.

Passively Mode-Locked Erbium-Doped Fiber Laser and Application in Laser Thrombolysis

open access: yesPhotonics
Fiber lasers have been widely used in surgery with the development of fiber photonics. Since the human body is prone to myocardial infarction caused by blood clots, laser thrombolysis was proposed as a safe and efficient treatment.

Mode-locked multichromatic x rays in a seeded free-electron laser for single-shot x-ray spectroscopy

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2012
We present the promise of generating gigawatt mode-locked multichromatic x rays in a seeded free-electron laser (FEL). We show that, by using a laser to imprint periodic modulation in electron beam phase space, a single-frequency coherent seed can be ...

Versatile Dye Laser Generator-Amplifier System for Intense Tunable Picosecond Pulse Generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
. Passively mode-locked ruby-laser pulses are used to generate nearly diffraction-limited picosecond light pulses in a dye cell by longitudinally amplified spontaneous emission.

Experimental Observation of Transitions of Different Pulse Solutions of Ginzburg-Landau Equation in a Mode-Locked Fiber Laser

open access: yes, 2012
Transitions between different kinds of soliton solutions of Ginzburg-Landau equation (GLE) have been studied experimentally in a mode-locked fiber laser.

Excited State Opto‐Ionic Reservoir Computing in Hybrid Perovskite Electrochemically‐Gated Luminescent Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A neuromorphic computing system exploiting opto‐ionic modulation in lead halide perovskite microcrystals demonstrates high‐dimensional reservoir dynamics with diffraction‐limited node resolution. Leveraging ultrafast excited‐state interactions, it achieves efficient computation (800 pJ/node‐operation), robustly distinguishing 4‐bit pulse sequences ...

Graphene mode locked, wavelength-tunable, dissipative soliton fiber laser

open access: yes, 2010
Atomic layer graphene possesses wavelength-insensitive ultrafast saturable absorption, which can be exploited as a full-band mode locker. Taking advantage of the wide band saturable absorption of the graphene, we demonstrate experimentally that wide ...
