A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

Cancer‐Associated BCL‐2 Mutants Reveal Mechanisms Towards Venetoclax Resistance

Venetoclax (VEN) resistance in chronic lymphocytic leukemia arises from diverse BCL2 mutations. We map mechanisms contributing to VEN resistance across common BCL‐2 variants. G101V and D103Y reduce drug binding and increase sequestration of pro‐apoptotic proteins. V156D blocks VEN allosterically.

35 kW peak power picosecond pulsed thulium-doped fibre amplifier system seeded by a gain-switched laser diode at 2 microns

High power fibre laser sources in the 2 µm wavelength region with picosecond-scale pulse durations have attractive applications such as materials processing, eye-safe radar and nonlinear frequency conversion to midinfrared wavelengths.
