Mechanisms of dual-wavelength dissipative soliton mode-locking in net-normal dispersion fiber lasers

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2022
Dual-wavelength mode-locked fiber lasers have attracted great attention due to their enormous potential in facilitating dual-comb spectroscopy. However, mechanism for dual-wavelength dissipative soliton mode-locking and the intracavity dynamics are still

Mode-locking in driven vortex lattices with transverse ac-drive and random pinning

open access: yes, 2001
We find mode-locking steps in simulated current-voltage characteristics of driven vortex lattices with {\it random} pinning when an applied ac-current is {\it perpendicular} to the dc-current.

The mode-locking transition of random lasers [PDF]

open access: yesNature Photonics, 2011
The discovery of the spontaneous mode-locking of lasers, i.e., the synchronous oscillation of electromagnetic modes in a cavity, has been a milestone of photonics allowing the realization of oscillators delivering ultra-short pulses. This process is so far known to occur only in standard ordered lasers with meter size length and only in the presence of

Theoretical and Experimental Investigations of a Passively Mode-Locked Nd" Glass Laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
The presented theoretical model for a mode-locked Nd-glass laser simultaneously takes into account dynamics of the mode-locking dye, amplification saturation and radiation background.

Mode-Locked Operation of High-Order Transverse Modes in a Vertical-External-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser

open access: yesSensors
Understanding the mechanism of mode-locking in a laser with high-order transverse mode is important for achieving an ultrashort pulses train under more complicated conditions.

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Dually-mode-locked ND: YAG laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Mode-locking is stabilized effectively by conventional loss-modulator and phase-modulator, mode-locking elements placed in laser cavity in optical series with one another.

Phase diagram and complexity of mode-locked lasers: from order to disorder

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate mode-locking processes in lasers displaying a variable degree of structural randomness, from standard optical cavities to multiple-scattering media.

Plasma microRNA Signature as Predictive Marker of Clinical Response to Therapy During Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Despite the availability of effective therapies for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the unpredictable nature of disease progression and the variability in individual treatment outcomes call for reliable biomarkers. This pilot study aims to investigate the potential of plasma circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) as predictive biomarkers for ...
