Passive mode-locking under higher order effects
The response of a passive mode-locking mechanism, where gain and spectral filtering are saturated with the energy and loss saturated with the power, is examined under the presence of higher order effects.

Nonlinear dynamics of mode-locking optical fiber ring lasers [PDF]
We consider a model of a mode-locked fiber ring laser for which the evolution of a propagating pulse in a birefringent optical fiber is periodically perturbed by rotation of the polarization state owing to the presence of a passive polarizer.

Joule‐assisted nanotherapeutic urethral stent harnesses a smart, biodegradable magnesium stent to orchestrate spatiotemporal theragenerative therapy for urethral strictures. Magnetically induced Joule heating enables on‐demand drug release and bacterial ablation, while simultaneously guiding urothelial regeneration.

The plasma edge of transparent conducting oxide SrNbO3 shifts from ∼2 eV in the visible range to 1.37 eV in the near‐infrared region by off‐stoichiometry using the vacancy sites as quasi‐substitutional virtual elements. This work advances the stoichiometry engineering of perovskite oxides using oxide molecular beam epitaxy, allowing synthesis beyond ...

A waveguide array fiber laser is demonstrated. An AlGaAs waveguide array is used as a saturable absorber to achieve passive mode-locking in an erbium-doped fiber laser. The output consists of a very regular train of pulses. Autocorrelations show that the

Mode-locking matter with light [PDF]
Theory and experiments are currently being developed in our laboratory to use tailored light fields to control the dynamics of molecular reactions. We have recently shown theoretically that a properly chirped light pulse can be used to overcome the natural tendency of wave packets to spread on anharmonic molecular potential energy surfaces. The optimal

We reported that the photonic crystal fiber (PCF) filled with TI:Bi2Te3 nanosheets solution could act as an effective saturable absorber (SA). Employing this TI-PCF SA device; we constructed an ytterbium-doped all-fiber laser oscillator and achieved the

On topological genericity of the mode-locking phenomenon [PDF]
We study the circle homeomorphisms extensions over a strictly ergodic homeomorphism. Under a very mild restriction, we show that the fibered rotation number is locally constant on an open and dense subset. In the complement of this set, we found a dense subset in which every map is conjugate to a direct product.

This work investigates modifying interfacial contacts in realizing giant‐performance semiconductor nanomembrane optoelectronics. Strategies, including surface reaction and buffer layer work‐function modulation, are explored to boost the Schottky barrier. An emerging material of YbOx is utilized for near‐ideal Ohmic contact.

Buildup and Real-Time Control of Spatiotemporal Nonlinear Dynamics
Ultrafast multimode fiber lasers enable the high-dimensional control of pulses, which can generate spatiotemporal mode-locking with high peak power and multimode Q-switching with large pulse energy.
