Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Wearable and noninvasive monitoring of fluid shifts: A pilot study assessing a novel bioimpedance sensor during lower body negative pressure

open access: yesPhysiological Reports
Fluid extravasation is a prominent feature of several disease processes in acute and critical illness. Bioimpedance at frequencies representing extracellular and total resistance offers an opportunity to monitor fluid shifts. The aim of the present study

Randomized Dynamic Mode Decomposition

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a randomized algorithm for computing the near-optimal low-rank dynamic mode decomposition (DMD). Randomized algorithms are emerging techniques to compute low-rank matrix approximations at a fraction of the cost of deterministic ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Nettle (Urtica cannabina L.) polysaccharides as a novel dietary supplement: enhancing systemic antioxidant status via modulation of the gut–liver axis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
BackgroundNettle (Urtica cannabina L.) is a promising traditional food source with great potential in the expanding functional foods market; however, the bioactive potential of its polysaccharides, a major component, remains underexplored as a functional

Determination of Intrinsic Mode and Linear Mode Coupling in Solar Microwave Bursts

open access: yes, 2013
An explicit equation of the propagational angle of microwave emission between the line-of-sight and the local magnetic field is newly derived. The existence of the solution of propagational angle is clearly shown under a series of typical parameters in ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Feeding live yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) improved performance of mid-lactation dairy cows by altering ruminal bacterial communities and functions of serum antioxidation and immune responses

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research
Background The utilization of live yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, YE) in dairy cows is gaining traction in dairy production as a potential strategy to improve feed efficiency and milk yield.
