An express mode of urban bus systems
2020 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2020This study proposes an express mode of urban bus systems. The new mode features conventional buses serving as a feeder to the express bus system that connects two distant spots with intense demand (e.g. transport hubs). Operated as ground transit service with very few stops, the express bus is designated to run on urban expressways to guarantee a high ...

Dual-mode low-power bus encoding for high-performance bus drivers
Proceedings of IEEE. IEEE Region 10 Conference. TENCON 99. 'Multimedia Technology for Asia-Pacific Information Infrastructure' (Cat. No.99CH37030), 2003System-level buses consume much more power by orders of magnitude than on-chip buses. Existing bus encoding schemes are based on rail-to-rail CMOS bus drivers while recent high-performance devices include BiCMOS bus drivers to achieve transfer bandwidth required. BiCMOS drivers consume significant quiescent power as well as active power proportional to

The operation mode control of hybrid urban bus
Proceedings 2011 International Conference on Transportation, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering (TMEE), 2011This paper introduces the structure of powertrain system based on hybrid urban bus. The scheme of operation mode control is proposed according to the analysis of operation modes. Through the vehicle tests, the experimental results verify that the shifting of operation modes respond rapidly and correctly under the control of the vehicle controller.

A Transit Mode Combining the Best of Bus and Rail
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1973<div class="htmlview paragraph">A transit modal concept has been developed which demonstrates good potential as an attractive yet realistic alternative for urban automobile commuters. Called BTV (for Bi-modal Transit Vehicle), the concept consists of rubber-tired automated transit vehicles operating in trains on exclusive guideways. At designated

A novel bus transfer mode (AS transfer) and a performance evaluation methodology
Integration, 2016This paper proposes an innovative on-Chip bus transfer mode - the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) state transfer (AS) and a performance evaluation methodology to estimate the transfer performance. By modeling and collecting several performance metrics including bus latency, bandwidth, valid bandwidth, power and energy consumption using the ...

A quaternary current mode bus driver and receiver circuits
2009 52nd IEEE International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2009This paper presents a quaternary current mode driver and receiver circuits that can be used to drive on or off chip interconnections. The new design reduces the number of interconnections by half. Moreover, measurement results indicate a 27% power reduction when compared to the conventional inverter chain driver.

Optimized single-mode tapped tee data bus
Optical Fiber Communication, 1982Here we report on the design and implementation of an optimized 15-terminal 13-coupler tapped tee data bus. The system uses newly developed low loss biconically tapered fused fiber couplers, commercially available fiber pigtailed laser diode sources complete with 1-GHz bandwidth modulation drivers and high speed Si-APD photodetectors.

Reliable feeder bus schedule optimization in a multi-mode transit system
2017 IEEE 20th International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC), 2017Metro network works as a backbone of the public transport system for metropolitans. Feeder buses are designed to connect major metro stations and homes of travelers so as to solve the last mile problem. With the recent implement of the real-time bus timetable program in Shanghai, feeder buses could better coordinate with metro to further improve the ...
