VHDL synthesis system (VSS) : user's manual, version 5.0 [PDF]
This report provides instructions for installing and using the VHDL Synthesis System (Version 5.0). VSS is a high level synthesis sytem that synthesizes structures from an abstract description, written with VHDL behavioral constructs.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Nonlinear Normal Modes of a Rotating Shaft Based on the Invariant Manifold Method
The nonlinear normal mode methodology is generalized to the study of a rotating shaft supported by two short journal bearings. For rotating shafts, nonlinearities are generated by forces arising from the supporting hydraulic bearings.

Development of an experimental space station model for structural dynamics research [PDF]
Design, analysis, and testing of an experimental space station scale model is presented. The model contains hardware components with dynamic characteristics similar to those expected for other large space structures.

Quantum Zeno dynamics of a field in a cavity
We analyze the quantum Zeno dynamics that takes place when a field stored in a cavity undergoes frequent interactions with atoms. We show that repeated measurements or unitary operations performed on the atoms probing the field state confine the ...

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the first two moments (mean and variance) of the structural dynamics response of a structure with uncertain variables and subjected to random excitation.

A distributed finite-element modeling and control approach for large flexible structures [PDF]
An unconventional framework is described for the design of decentralized controllers for large flexible structures. In contrast to conventional control system design practice which begins with a model of the open loop plant, the controlled plant is ...

Analysis of nonlinear structures via mode synthesis [PDF]
An effective procedure for NASTRAN was developed that permits any number of substructures of any size to be synthesized for the purpose of developing normal modes of vibration of the complete structural system.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
