Conversion of voltage-mode biquads to current-mode
38th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Proceedings, 2002A new procedure for obtaining cascadable, opamp based current-mode biquads from voltage-mode biquads without the use of voltage-mode to current-mode transformations is presented. Two new multi opamp biquads circuits are derived and used to construct lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch, and allpass filters. A single opamp bandpass circuit is also derived.

Mode conversion in the Gulf of Guinea
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1999Linear mode conversion is the partial transfer of wave energy from one wave type (a) to another (b) in a weakly non-uniform background state. For propagation in one dimension (x), the local wavenumber kjx of each wave (j = a, b) varies with x; if these are equal at some xR, the waves are locally in phase, and resonant energy transfer can occur. We

Observation of mode conversion in gyrotrons
International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1985The observed output power levels in the University of Sydney's gyrotron can be accounted for only by including the effects of mode conversion at waveguidetaper transitions in the vicinity of the resonant cavity. A series of measurements taken from liquid-crystal images of the microwave fields beyond the output window confirms this.

Mode conversion in an imperfect waveguide
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical, Nuclear and General, 1973A formalism is described for calculating the mode conversion induced in a straight waveguide by imperfections which break its translational symmetry, and in one whose direction changes along its length. The method employs 'quasimodes' which are adapted to the local nature of the guide. The method is particularly useful when the spatial frequency of the

Mode Conversion in an Inhomogeneous Plasma
The Physics of Fluids, 1972An expression for the mode conversion efficiency is derived for waves propagating in an inhomogeneous plasma. Special consideration is given to the effects of finite wave vector parallel to a static magnetic field. It is shown that damping results in a reduction of the efficiency in the immediate neighborhood of the conversion layer.

Mode Conversion in Circular Waveguides
Bell System Technical Journal, 1965Mode conversion from TE 11 to TM 11 modes in circular waveguides is investigated. It is found that an iris placed across the waveguide or an abrupt change in guide radius (step) will produce a wide range of mode conversion coefficients which can be used in most dual-mode feedhorn applications.

Generation of cylindrical vector modes via astigmatic mode conversion
Optics LettersIn this work, we propose and demonstrate experimentally a compact technique for generating cylindrical vector beams based on a Michelson interferometer and a π-astigmatic mode converter. The latter is required to invert the topological charge of higher-order Laguerre–Gauss (LG) beams.

Normal Modes and Mode Conversion in Helix Waveguide
Bell System Technical Journal, 1961Helix waveguide, composed of closely wound insulated copper wire covered with an absorptive or reactive jacket, transmits circular electric waves with low loss. Mechanical imperfections, such as curvature and deformation, cause coupling between the circular electric waves and unwanted modes and degrade the transmission.

Multidimensional autoresonant mode conversion
Physics of Plasmas, 1995It is shown that the autoresonance effect is characteristic of wave interactions in slowly varying weakly nonlinear multidimensional media. The theory of the phenomenon is presented for the mode conversion case and illustrated in two dimensions. It is demonstrated that multidimensional autoresonance is stable with respect to weak damping and transverse
