Fracture toughness for mixed mode I/II of epoxy resin

We investigated the fracture locus and the direction of the crack initiation under mixed mode I/II for epoxy resin at room temperature. In order to obtain them over a whole mode mixity, we conducted asymmetric bending tests. We examined four common fracture criteria to compare them with the experimental results.

Mixed Mode (Mode I/III) Dynamic Fracture Initiation Toughness of Aluminum Alloy

In this study, a hybrid experimental-numerical approach is used to determine the mixed mode (mode I/III) dynamic fracture initiation toughness of aluminum alloy. Cylindrical specimens with spiral v-notch at a revolution angle of 360°and pitch angles 22.5°(inclined angles) are fabricated from aluminum rod.
