Companion context dependent topic modeling

2014 Seventh International Conference on Mobile Computing and Ubiquitous Networking (ICMU), 2014
Contexts such as time, location and companion play an important role to determine topics of documents. We focus on companion context (friends, wife, husband etc.) as one of the most important contexts to determine topics. We propose companion context dependent topic model by the extension of basic graphical model: LDA (Latent Dirichlet allocation).

C-minimality and model companions

Siberian Advances in Mathematics, 2014
Summary: We study the question on existence of a model companion of the theory of a \(C\)-minimal structure with a distinguished automorphism of a special form.

Model companions of the quasivarieties of polygons

Siberian Mathematical Journal, 1998
The author studies the existence problem for model companions of quasivarieties of polygons. Let \(\mathcal H\) be the class of polygons which possesses the amalgamation property and the congruence extension property. In the article under review, the existence of a model companion for \(\mathcal H\) is proven to be equivalent to each of the following ...

The Model Companion of Width-Two Orders

Order, 1997
Let \(W_n\) denote the universal class of all width-\(n\) orders. Building on work of Pouzet the authors prove that the class of existentially closed members of \(W_2\), \(W^{\text{ec}}_2\), is a first-order class. In fact for \(A\in W_2\), \(A\in W^{\text{ec}}_2\) if and only if \(A\) is a linear sum of d-homogeneous width-2 orders.

A counterexample in the theory of model companions

Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1975
In [7] we proved that (I) if T is a countable ℵ0-categorical theory without finite models then T has a model companion; and several people have observed that (II) if T is a countable theory without finite models which is ℵ1-categorical and forcingcomplete for infinite forcing (i.e., T= TF) then T is model-complete.

Using Classification Learning in Companion Modeling

2009
Companion Modeling is a methodology used to facilitate adaptive management of renewable resources by their users. It is using role-playing games (RPG) and multiagent simulations to validate initial models representing the functioning of complex systems to be managed.

Modeling curiosity for virtual learning companions

International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems, 2014
Curiosity is an emotional motivation that drives knowledge acquisition in learning context. Studies have shown that curiosity positively influences social learning and a peer learner's curiosity may elicit the curiosity of other learners. Hence, modeling curiosity in learning companions may improve human learners' learning experience in virtual ...

Companion Modelling: A Method of Adaptive and Participatory Research [PDF]

open access: possible, 2013
The principles laid down in the ComMod Charter and presented in the general introduction relate to a stance or attitude towards how a specific issue and specific field are addressed by taking into account the various types of knowledge and perceptions already present and the use of certain tools.
