Fitting Multilevel Factor Models
We examine a special case of the multilevel factor model, with covariance given by multilevel low rank (MLR) matrix~\cite{parshakova2023factor}. We develop a novel, fast implementation of the expectation-maximization algorithm, tailored for multilevel factor models, to maximize the likelihood of the observed data.

ABSTRACT Background B‐acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL) is the most common pediatric cancer, and while most children in high‐resource settings are cured, therapy carries risks for long‐term toxicities. Understanding parents’ concerns about these late effects is essential to guide anticipatory support and inform evolving therapeutic approaches ...

Model fit and model selection [PDF]
This paper uses an example to show that a model that fits the available data perfectly may provide worse answers to policy questions than an alternative, imperfectly fitting model.

Models of the zodiacal light are necessary to convert measured data taken from low Earth orbit into the radiation field outside the Solar System. The uncertainty in these models dominates the overall uncertainty in determining the extragalactic background light for wavelengths λ < 100 μm.

ABSTRACT Bone tumours present significant challenges for affected patients, as multimodal therapy often leads to prolonged physical limitations. This is particularly critical during childhood and adolescence, as it can negatively impact physiological development and psychosocial resilience.

Corrected goodness-of-fit index in latent variable modeling using non-parametric bootstrapping
Latent variable modeling (LVM) is a powerful tool for validating tools and measurements in the social sciences. One of the main challenges in this method is the evaluation of model fit that is traditionally assessed using omnibus inferential statistical ...

Decisional Fit under Turbulent Circumstances [PDF]
The purpose of this communication is to study the effect of a recent networking decision support system (called Link 16) on decision performance, within the specific context of military operations. Based on a new decision model - the Decisional Fit Model

ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild
