On the modelling and management of traffic [PDF]
Several realistic situations in vehicular traffic that give rise to queues can be modeled through conservation laws with boundary and unilateral constraints on the flux. This paper provides a rigorous analytical framework for these descriptions, comprising stability with respect to the initial data, to the boundary inflow and to the constraint.

A model of management teams [PDF]
We present a simple model of management teams where the time it takes to make decisions is related to the size of the committee. We characterize the situations where larger or smaller sizes of the management team are desirable depending on the covariance structure of the signals that the managers observe.

Modeling for Transition Management
A framework for the modeling and simulation of transitions is presented. A transition, “substantial change in the state of a socio-technical system”, typically unfolds over a long timespan. We therefore suggest to use simulation to inform transition managers on the effect of their decisions.

A Model for Manpower Management [PDF]
A model for manpower management is presented based upon the study of a large technical department of a corporation. The model can be used in an optimization mode to determine recruiting plans, given manning needs, and in a simulation mode to project the results of changes in salary structure or advancement policies.
