On risk-return relationship: an application of GARCH (p,q)-M model to Asia _ Pacific region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Despite the criticisms on the validity of the CAPM, finance researchers continue to adopt the model in trying to describe the relationship between risk and return. The introduction of the GARCH(p,q)-M model provides an avenue for testing the model within

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Risk aversion and Relationships in model-free [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper belongs to the study of decision making under risk. We will be interested in modeling the behavior of decision makers (hereafter referred to as DM) when they are facing risky choices.

Using approximate results for validating value-at-risk [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The failure of value-at-risk (VaR) methods in recent times has reawakened interest in its statistical properties. It is clear that we need quite general methods to assess the ef?cacy of a VaR forecast.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Model Averaging Software for Dichotomous Dose Response Risk Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes
Model averaging has been shown to be a useful method for incorporating model uncertainty in quantitative risk estimation. In certain circumstances this technique is computationally complex, requiring sophisticated software to carry out the computation ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
