Scalarization of compact stars in the scalar-Gauss-Bonnet gravity
We study scalarization of horizonless neutral compact reflecting stars. In our model, the scalar hair can be induced by the coupling of static scalar fields to the Gauss-Bonnet invariant.

Ghost-free infinite derivative gravity
We present the construction of a gravitational action including an infinite series of higher derivative terms. The outcome is a classically consistent completion of a well-studied quadratic curvature theory.

Relational Particle Models as Toy Models for Quantum Gravity and Quantum Cosmology [PDF]
It is argued that substantial portions of both Newtonian particle mechanics and general relativity can be viewed as relational (rather than absolute) theories. I furthermore use the relational particle models as toy models to investigate the problem of time in closed-universe canonical quantum general relativity.

Cation diffusion causes an increase in the catalytically active MIEC region in solid oxide cells. Simultaneously, it leads to the additional formation and growth of secondary structures in the electrolyte, which reduces the oxygen diffusion. Abstract High‐temperature solid oxide cells are highly efficient energy converters.

Gravitational wavefunctions in JT supergravity
We determine explicit expressions for the continuous two-sided gravitational wavefunctions in supersymmetric versions of JT gravity, focusing mainly on N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 JT supergravity.

Memory, Penrose limits and the geometry of gravitational shockwaves and gyratons
The geometric description of gravitational memory for strong gravitational waves is developed, with particular focus on shockwaves and their spinning analogues, gyratons.

NEW SPIN FOAM MODELS OF QUANTUM GRAVITY [PDF]
We give a brief and a critical review of the Barret-Crane spin foam models of quantum gravity. Then we describe two new spin foam models which are obtained by direct quantization of General Relativity and do not have some of the drawbacks of the Barret-Crane models.

Branes in JT (super)gravity from group theory
In this work, we revisit the end-of-the-world (EOW) brane amplitudes in JT gravity from a BF gauge theoretic perspective. Observing and identifying the correct group theoretic ingredient for a closed EOW brane as a discrete series character, we use the ...

Local phase space and edge modes for diffeomorphism-invariant theories
We discuss an approach to characterizing local degrees of freedom of a subregion in diffeomorphism-invariant theories using the extended phase space of Donnelly and Freidel [36].
