LIMIT THEORY FOR COINTEGRATED SYSTEMS WITH MODERATELY INTEGRATED AND MODERATELY EXPLOSIVE REGRESSORS

open access: yesEconometric Theory, 2009
An asymptotic theory is developed for multivariate regression in cointegrated systems whose variables are moderately integrated or moderately explosive in the sense that they have autoregressive roots of the form ρni = 1 + ci/nα, involving moderate deviations from unity when α ∈ (0, 1) and ci ∈ ℝ are constant parameters.

On Moderate Deviation Theory in Estimation

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1983
The performance of a sequence of estimators $\{T_n\}$ of $\theta$ can be measured by the probability concentration of the estimator in an $\varepsilon_n$-neighborhood of $\theta$. Classical choices of $\varepsilon_n$ are $\varepsilon_n = cn^{-1/2}$ (contiguous case) and $\varepsilon_n = \varepsilon$ fixed for all $n$ (non-local case).

Curvilinear Moderation—A More Complete Examination of Moderation Effects in Behavioral Sciences

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, 2018
In behavioral sciences, researchers often examine whether any linear moderations exist in their studies. That is, they evaluate the extent (i.e., magnitude, direction) to which a linear effect of a predictor X (e.g., cognitive ability) on a criterion Y ...

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
