A Mindlin–Reissner Variational Principle to Analyze the Behavior of Moderately Thick Plates

Applied Mechanics Reviews, 1989
In the present work a method to solve the plate behavior under the assumption of the Mindlin plate theory is analyzed by means of finite element techniques, avoiding the tendency of the thin element to lock when the thickness of the plates becomes very small.

Digital Marketing and Product Variation on Purchase Decisions Moderating by Packaging

DEAL: International Journal of Economics and Business, 2023
Consumer lifestyle in choosing products is more a simple and practical. The practicality of what consumers do is seen in consuming drinks for accompany many activities, coffee as a sample.  Coffee is loved by many people. This research tested about 164 respondents, who had bought and consumed Good Day in Bekasi Regency and data collection was carried ...

Moderate Environmental Variation Across Generations Promotes the Evolution of Robust Solutions

Artificial Life, 2019
Previous evolutionary studies demonstrated how robust solutions can be obtained by evaluating agents multiple times in variable environmental conditions. Here we demonstrate how agents evolved in environments that vary across generations outperform agents evolved in environments that remain fixed.

Intraindividual Variation of Running Economy in Highly Trained and Moderately Trained Males

International Journal of Sports Medicine, 1997
Previous studies of intraindividual variation in running economy have not compared within-subject variability between groups of runners differing in training level, nor have they considered the workload of the submaximal but relative to the lactate breakpoint.

Intraindividual variation in recent stress exposure as a moderator of cortisol and testosterone levels

Annals of Behavioral Medicine, 2003
Intraindividual variation in recent stress exposure and its impact upon cortisol and testosterone was investigated. Over 1 year, 72 young male firefighters completed the Daily Stress Inventories, for 2 shift cycles (16 days), every 3 months. At the end of each 16-day period each participant attended a 1-hr morning assessment session. Saliva samples and

The morphology of the ionospheric variations associated with magnetic disturbance I. Variations at moderately low latitudes

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1953
Abstract A study is made of the variations in the heights and densities of the ionospheric regions, particularly the F2 region, during magnetic disturbance. Data from three observatories in moderate latitudes, namely Watheroo, Canberra, and Washington are used, and the disturbance variations in both local time and storm time are ...

Diurnal Variations of Beta-Endorphin at Rest and After Moderate Intensity Exercise

Chronobiology International, 1990
To determine the effect of time of day on circulating beta-endorphin concentrations 14 men exercised at 75% of their maximal capacity at 0600, 1200, 1800 and 2400 hr. Each trial was separated by 3-5 days and preceded by a normal sleep cycle except for the 0600 hr trials which was preceded by 6 hr sleep.

The energy variation of the sensitivity of a polyethylene moderated BF3 proportional counter

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1963
Abstract The variation with neutron energy of the sensitivity of a polyethylene moderated boron counter has been investigated experimentally at 2.3 MeV, 550 keV, 210 keV, 110 keV, 340 eV and 5 eV, and theoretically by the multigroup diffusion method in the same range. Different moderator thicknesses up to 10 cm were considered.

Spanwise Variation in Circulation and Drag of Wings at Moderate Reynolds Number

Journal of Aircraft, 2013
The measurement and prediction of the aerodynamic performance of airfoils and wings at chord Reynolds numbers below 105 are both difficult and increasingly important in the application to small-scale aircraft. Not only are the aerodynamics strongly affected by the dynamics of the unstable laminar boundary layer, but the flow is decreasingly likely to ...

Atrial bioenergetic variations in moderate hypoxia: danger or protective defense?

Basic Research in Cardiology, 1989
The effects of hypoxia on contractile tension and on tissue adenylate pool content, nicotinamide adenine nucleotide, NAD, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, NADP, and creatine phosphate, CrP, were investigated in isolated, spontaneously beating, guinea pig atria.
