Radon Transform on spheres and generalized Bessel function associated with dihedral groups [PDF]
Motivated by Dunkl operators theory, we consider a generating series involving a modified Bessel function and a Gegenbauer polynomial, that generalizes a known series already considered by L. Gegenbauer. We actually use inversion formulas for Fourier and

A highly accurate numerical method is given for the solution of boundary value problem of generalized Bagley‐Torvik (BgT) equation with Caputo derivative of order 0<β<2$$ 0<\beta <2 $$ by using the collocation‐shooting method (C‐SM). The collocation solution is constructed in the space Sm+1(1)$$ {S}_{m+1}^{(1)} $$ as piecewise polynomials of degree at ...

Forecast verification using information and noise
Verification of weather forecasts is usually expressed in terms of total error metrics. This is useful for end users of the forecasts but does not allow evaluation of the intrinsic information content of the forecasts. To overcome this limitation, we propose a new total error decomposition into information and noise error measures, connect it to ...

Navigating Gravity: Competing Effects Result in Opposing Taxis for Different Janus Swimmers
The combined effects of gravity and wall‐induced hydrodynamics on the motion of Janus colloids are investigated. Platinum‐ and copper‐coated silica microswimmers show distinct gravitactic alignment near surfaces due to different hydrodynamic couplings. This distinct gravitactic behavior enables separation of initially mixed active particles.

ABSTRACT The propagation characteristics of partial discharge (PD) in cables impact PD detection sensitivity, defect localisation accuracy and defect severity evaluation. Currently, the effects of semiconducting materials' frequency‐dependent properties and corrugated aluminium sheath structures on PD signal propagation in high‐voltage (HV) cables ...

Approximation theorems for modified Szasz-Mirakjan operators in polynomial weight spaces
In this paper we will study properties of Szasz-Mirakjan type operators A_n^ν , B_n^ ν defined by modified Bessel function I_ν . We shall present theorems giving a degree of approximation for these operators.

In the present work we establish for the first time a class of ( P , m ) $(P,\mathrm{m})$ -superquadratic functions and look into its features. Using them, we come up with the Jensen and Hermite–Hadamard inequalities, as well as the fractional versions ...
