3D‐Printed Aerogel Metamaterials with Multiple Heterogeneous Interfaces Enables Integrated Control of Microwave Field, Acoustic Field, and Thermal Field

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Direct‐Ink‐Writing (DIW) 3D‐printed aramid nanofibers (ANF)/carbon nanotubes (CNT)/liquid metal (LM) aerogel metamaterial demonstrates an effective and lightweight strategy to achieve polarization insensitive & ultra‐wideband microwave absorption from 2.65‐18 GHz, broadband noise reduction effect in the 2800‐6400 Hz and thermal suppression ...

Flow of a second grade fluid with fractional derivatives due to a quadratic time dependent shear stress

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
The velocity field and shear stress for unsteady flow of a second grade fluid with fractional derivatives through an infinite long circular cylinder are evaluated.

Amos-type bounds for modified Bessel function ratios

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2013
We systematically investigate lower and upper bounds for the modified Bessel function ratio [Formula: see text] by functions of the form [Formula: see text] in case [Formula: see text] is positive for all [Formula: see text], or equivalently, where [Formula: see text] or [Formula: see text] is a negative integer.

Compensatory Interplay Between Clarin‐1 and Clarin‐2 Deafness‐Associated Proteins Governs Phenotypic Variability in Hearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Functional compensation between clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 in cochlear hair cells. Hearing loss associated with CLRN1 mutations shows striking phenotypic variability; however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. This study reveals that clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 function cooperatively in cochlear hair cells to sustain mechanoelectrical ...

Calcul des fonctions de Bessel modifiées à arguments complexes Modified Bessel Functions for Complex Arguments

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006
Une méthode de calcul des fonctions In et Kn (fonctions de Bessel modifiées de première et deuxième espèce) à arguments complexes est présentée. Cette méthode conçue pour des ordinateurs vectoriels permet un gain notable de temps de calcul par rapport ...

Viscoelastic fluid flow through an annulus with relaxation, retardation effects and external heat source/sink

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2018
Analysis of unsteady hydro-magnetic viscoelastic fluid flow through an annulus (bounded by two infinite co-axial circular cylinders) has been made in presence of radiation, periodic pressure gradient and external heat source/sink.

Solution to the Modified Helmholtz Equation for Arbitrary Periodic Charge Densities

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
We present a general method for solving the modified Helmholtz equation without shape approximation for an arbitrary periodic charge distribution, whose solution is known as the Yukawa potential or the screened Coulomb potential.

Modeling stratified dispersal in forest pests: A case study of the mountain pine beetle in Alberta [PDF]

open access: yesEcology.
Abstract Forest pests pose critical threats to forest ecosystems worldwide, yet accurately predicting their spatial spread remains challenging due to complex dispersal behaviors, weather effects, and the inherent difficulty of tracking small organisms across large landscapes.

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.
