Fractional Integral Inequalities for Exponentially Nonconvex Functions and Their Applications

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
In this paper, the authors define a new generic class of functions involving a certain modified Fox–Wright function. A useful identity using fractional integrals and this modified Fox–Wright function with two parameters is also found. Applying this as an

Estimating Aboveground Biomass Using Allometric Models And Adaptive Learning Rate Optimization Algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2021
Forest aboveground biomass (AGB) is imperative in the study of climate change and the carbon cycle in the global terrestrial ecosystem. Developing a credible approach to estimate forest biomass and carbon stocks is essential.

The error bounds of Gauss quadrature formulae for the modified weight functions of Chebyshev type [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mathematics and Computation, 2020
In this paper, we consider the Gauss quadrature formulae corresponding to some modifications of anyone of the four Chebyshev weights, considered by Gautschi and Li in \cite{gauli}. As it is well known, in the case of analytic integrands, the error of these quadrature formulas can be represented as a contour integral with a complex kernel.

A Reliability-Enhanced Forming Grinding Method of Cylindrical Involute Gears for Electrical Vehicles

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2022
A new form-grinding method of cylindrical involute gears for electrical vehicles (EVs) is proposed to obtain stable contact performance of gear tooth surfaces and improve their reliability based on a predesigned controllable second-order transmission ...

High-pass filter characteristics of the baroreflex--a comparison of frequency domain and pharmacological methods. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Pharmacological methods to assess baroreflex sensitivity evoke supra-physiological blood pressure changes whereas computational methods use spontaneous fluctuations of blood pressure.

A derivation error that affects carbon balance models exists in the current implementation of the modified Arrhenius function [PDF]

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 2020
Summary Understanding biological temperature responses is crucial to predicting global carbon fluxes. The current approach to modelling temperature responses of photosynthetic capacity in large scale modelling efforts uses a modified Arrhenius equation.

Measurement Error Estimation for Distributed Smart Meters Through a Modified BP Neural Network

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
Smart meters generally suffer degradation of metering accuracy and performance due to aging, faults, and other factors, which, however, are difficult to detect.

A Modified Error Function to Improve the Error Back-Propagation Algorithm for Multi-Layer Perceptrons [PDF]

open access: yesETRI Journal, 1995
This paper proposes a modified error function to improve the error back-propagation (EBP) algorithm for multi-Layer perceptrons (MLPs) which suffers from slow learning speed. It can also suppress over-specialization for training patterns that occurs in an algorithm based on a cross-entropy cost function which markedly reduces learning time.

The Comparison Between the MLE and Standard Bayes Estimators of the Reliability Function of Exponential Distribution

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, a Monte Carlo Simulation technique is used to compare the performance of MLE and the standard Bayes estimators of the reliability function of the one parameter exponential distribution. Two types of loss functions are adopted, namely,

Individual differences in reward-prediction-error: extraversion and feedback-related negativity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Medial frontal scalp-recorded negativity occurring ∼200–300 ms post-stimulus [known as feedback-related negativity (FRN)] is attenuated following unpredicted reward and potentiated following unpredicted non-reward.
