In this article, we propose a modified multiplicative thinning-based integer-valued autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity model and use the saddlepoint maximum likelihood estimation (SPMLE) method to estimate parameters.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Evaluating Maximum Likelihood Estimation Methods to Determine the Hurst Coefficient [PDF]
A maximum likelihood estimation method implemented in S-PLUS (S-MLE) to estimate the Hurst coefficient (H) is evaluated. The Hurst coefficient, with 0.5\u3cHS-MLE was developed to estimate H for fractionally differenced (fd) processes.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Improved expectation maximization algorithm for Gaussian mixed model using the kernel method [PDF]
Fraud activities have contributed to heavy losses suffered by telecommunication companies. In this paper, we attempt to use Gaussian mixed model, which is a probabilistic model normally used in speech recognition to identify fraud calls in the ...

On Finite Mixtures of Modified Intervened Poisson Distribution And Its Applications [PDF]
Kumar and Shibu proposed a modified version of intervened Poisson distribution (IPD), namely the modified intervened Poisson distribution (MIPD) for tackling situations of further interventions useful for certain practical problems. Here we consider some

There is some debate in the psychometric literature about item parameter estimation in multistage designs. It is occasionally argued that the conditional maximum likelihood (CML) method is superior to the marginal maximum likelihood method (MML) because ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Joint ML calibration and DOA estimation with separated arrays
This paper investigates parametric direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation in a particular context: i) each sensor is characterized by an unknown complex gain and ii) the array consists of a collection of subarrays which are substantially separated from ...
