Fast local convergence for flow topology optimization using the lattice Boltzmann method with a modified Newton method

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
We propose a Newton-gradient-hybrid optimization method for fluid topology optimization. The method accelerates convergence and reduces computation time. In addition, the fluid-solid boundaries are clearly distinguished.

Modified Jacobian Newton Iterative Method: Theory and Applications [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2009
This article proposes a new approach to the construction of a linearization method based on the iterative operator‐splitting method for nonlinear differential equations. The convergence properties of such a method are studied. The main features of the proposed idea are the linearization of nonlinear equations and the application of iterative splitting ...

Continuous modified Newton’s-type method for nonlinear operator equations [PDF]

open access: yesAnnali di Matematica Pura ed Applicata, 2003
A nonlinear operator equation $F(x)=0$, $F:H\to H,$ in a Hilbert space is considered. Continuous Newton's-type procedures based on a construction of a dynamical system with the trajectory starting at some initial point $x_0$ and becoming asymptotically close to a solution of $F(x)=0$ as $t\to +\infty$ are discussed.

Low complexity hybrid precoding algorithm for massive MIMO based on modified Newton method

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2023
A phase tracking algorithm was proposed for massivemultiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems based on the modified Newton (MN) method, which effectively reduced the high computational complexity in traditional high-performance hybrid precoding schemes.

AN IMPROVED NEWTON METHOD FOR RADIAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM LOAD ANALYSIS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2006
This paper presents a modified Newton method of load flow analysis for radial distribution systems. It is derived with the Jacobian matrix is in UDUT form, where U is a constant upper triangular matrix depending solely on system topology and D is a ...

A Modified q-BFGS Algorithm for Unconstrained Optimization

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This paper presents a modification of the q-BFGS method for nonlinear unconstrained optimization problems. For this modification, we use a simple symmetric positive definite matrix and propose a new q-quasi-Newton equation, which is close to the ordinary

Modeling Of Active Bending By The Method Newton-Raphson And The Modified Newton-Raphson

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering
The paper deals with the modelling and analysis of a single layer timber gridshell produced by active bending. Two geometrically nonlinear calculation methods, the Newton-Raphson method and the Modified Newton-Raphson method, are compared for the ...

A modified Newton method for unconstrained minimization

open access: yes, 1989
Newton's method has proved to be a very efficient method for solving strictly convex unconstrained minimization problems. For the nonconvex case, various modified Newton methods have been proposed. In this paper, a new modified Newton method is presented.

A New Technique to Compute Complex Roots [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2010
In this paper we modified Newton – Raphson and Secant methods to Complex form, then from that we get new iterative formula to them, named Newton (Secant) real iteration formula and Newton (Secant) imaginary iteration formula, real iteration used to find
