Lightweight Sheet Molding Compound Composites With Enhanced Mechanical Performance via Cellulose Nanocrystal Reinforcement

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Mechanical Property Enhancement and 21% Density Reduction in CNC‐Reinforced Glass Fiber Composites. ABSTRACT The use of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) as a sustainable, high‐performance alternative to partially replace calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in polyester sheet molding compound (SMC) composites is investigated.

Rheology–Performance Framework for PA6/GO Nanocomposites via a Hybrid Processing Route

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Hybrid PA6/GO nanocomposites with tuned melt rheology and improved thermal–mechanical performance. ABSTRACT Balancing melt processability with stiffness and heat resistance remains a central challenge for PA6 nanocomposites. Here, graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by a modified Hummers method and incorporated into PA6 via a hybrid route (solution ...

Measuring Mass of Gas in Central Galaxies Using Weak Lensing and Satellite Kinematics in MOND

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
In Milgrom’s MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) framework, the dynamical mass of a galaxy is fully determined by its baryonic matter distribution. Using this framework, we fit the distribution of cold and hot gas halos—focusing on the hot gas—around ...

Modified Newtonian Dynamics and Induced gravity

open access: yes, 2005
Modified Newtonian dynamics, a successful alternative to the cosmic dark matter model, proposes that gravitational field deviates from the Newtonian law when the field strength $g$ is weaker than a critical value $g_0$. We will show that the dynamics of MOND can be derived from an induced gravity model.

Data‐Driven Design of Co‐Continuous Morphology in PS/PMMA Two‐Phase Polymer Blends: A Theoretical, Experimental, and Machine Learning Approach

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
This study uses an integrated methodology for polymer blend design and development. It uses theoretical and experimental techniques to evaluate phase inversion and employs a novel computational tool to determine the highest co‐continuity degree using machine learning.

Higher-order Mean-motion Resonances Can Form in Type I Disk Migration

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Type I disk migration can form a chain of planets engaged in first-order mean-motion resonances (MMRs) parked at the disk inner edge. However, while second- or even third-order resonances were deemed unlikely due to their weaker strength, they have been ...

Processability Assessment of Recycled Polymeric Nonwoven Materials in Injection Molding, Film Extrusion and Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
Recycled nonwoven face masks are transformed into polymer feedstocks for injection molding, film extrusion, and additive manufacturing. Rheological behavior links composition to processability, enabling material selection and blending strategies.

Performance improvement of carbon fiber‐reinforced ABS composites by introducing fullerene nanoparticles

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Fullerene particles were incorporated with CF‐reinforced acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene terpolymer (ABS) matrix at three different compositions by a melt‐compounding process. These insights are crucial for the optimization of conductive hybrid composites for various applications.
