Self‐Crosslinkable Bacterial Cellulose/Chitosan/Pectin Injectable Hydrogels: Design, Characterization and Preliminary Biological Performance

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 45, December 5, 2025.
Bio‐injectable hydrogel. ABSTRACT In this study, multifunctional polysaccharide‐based injectable hydrogels were developed using chitosan (CS) and dialdehyde bacterial cellulose (D‐BC), interpenetrated with pectin (PT). The hydrogels exhibited rapid gelation, good water retention, and injectability under physiological conditions.

Controlled Release of Human Dental Pulp Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes from Hydrogels Attenuates Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 31, December 8, 2025.
Exosomes can reduce tissue damage in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA), but rapid clearance limits their efficacy. This study encapsulates exosomes in hyaluronic acid hydrogels for controlled release. In a rat model, hydrogel‐encapsulated exosomes outperform free exosomes in preserving bone integrity and reducing tissue destruction ...

Displacement and Vibration Measurements with Interferometers: Benchmark Configurations, Performance, and R&D Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
Self‐mixing interferometry is a powerful technique that brings together the exceptional sensitivity of phase measurements with the unequalled simplicity of the self‐mix configuration based on modulation of the cavity field induced by the return from the target. According to the selected measurand, displacement or vibration, and to the analog of digital

Computational Framework for Modeling Effects of Brain Collateral Circulation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 41, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study presents a computational framework to simulate cerebral blood flow in large vessel occlusions combining image‐based vascular reconstructions with generative modeling of pial collaterals to create realistic brain vasculature down to 50 μm vessels.

A Comparison of Coupling Strategies for 1D–3D Simulations of Coronary Hemodynamics

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 41, Issue 12, December 2025.
Various 1D–3D coupling strategies combining a one‐dimensional (1D) pulse wave propagation model with three‐dimensional (3D) computational fluid dynamics (CFD) were evaluated for numerous types of complex synthetic coronary lesion geometries. Steady‐state simulations driven by mean flow showed no discrepancy with transient simulations in predicting ...
