Microtissue‐Based Bioink as a Chondrocyte Microshelter for DLP Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 11, Issue 22, November 16, 2022., 2022
A novel microtissue bioink with good printability and cellular viability maintenance for digital light processing (DLP) bioprinting is introduced. The microtissue bioink exhibits desired mechanical properties, swelling ratio, and has almost no influences on printability. For instance, a DLP bioprinted ear with a precise auricle structure using microtia

Revisions to the Classification, Nomenclature, and Diversity of Eukaryotes

open access: yesJournal of Eukaryotic Microbiology, Volume 66, Issue 1, Page 4-119, January/February 2019., 2019
Abstract This revision of the classification of eukaryotes follows that of Adl et al., 2012 [J. Euk. Microbiol. 59(5)] and retains an emphasis on protists. Changes since have improved the resolution of many nodes in phylogenetic analyses. For some clades even families are being clearly resolved.

Cell Colonization Ability of a Commercialized Large Porous Alveolar Scaffold

open access: yesApplied Bionics and Biomechanics, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
The use of filling biomaterials or tissue‐engineered large bone implant‐coupling biocompatible materials and human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells seems to be a promising approach to treat critical‐sized bone defects. However, the cellular seeding onto and into large porous scaffolds still remains challenging since this process highly depends on ...

Applications of RNA Interference in Schistosomiasis: Gene Function Identification and Development of New Therapies

open access: yesInternational Scholarly Research Notices, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The study of Schistosoma species has undergone a dramatic change in recent years mainly due to transcriptome, proteome, and genome analyses. In order to better understand the biology of the parasite and to develop new and more efficient/specific drugs, scientists have now the task to translate genetic information into functional data. The present paper
