Tribochemical reaction and wear mechanism of MoDTC based friction modifier
Tribology International, 2022Abstract In this study, molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) coatings were fabricated on 304 stainless steel substrates via an electrodynamic spraying process with the aim to clearly understand the evolutionary process from MoDTC to MoS2 during contact sliding. Experiments were performed using an in-situ tribo-tester equipped with Raman spectroscopy to

ZDDP and MoDTC interactions in boundary lubrication—The effect of temperature and ZDDP/MoDTC ratio
Tribology International, 2006Abstract Tribofilms formed under boundary lubrication from ZDDP and MoDTC additives alone or in different ratios in the lubricant have been studied. The tribological performance is linked to the tribofilm properties and consequently to the lubricating conditions. Tribofilms are formed using a reciprocating pin-on-plate tribometer.

Evaluation of Low Phosphorus Engine Oil Containing MoDTC
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007<div class="htmlview paragraph">Phosphorus levels in engine oil are assumed to be lower than other oils because they cause emission catalyst poisoning. It mainly originates from zinc dithiophosphate (ZnDTP), which is an essential additive for engine oils as an antiwear agent and antioxidant. The reduction of ZnDTP in engine oils will have a great

Tribology Performance of Compound Synthetic Lubricant Containing MoDTC
Advanced Materials Research, 2013In this paper, dialkyl dithiocarbamate molybdenum (MoDTC) as a friction reducing additive was used for compound synthetic lubricant. The tribological properties of MoDTC were investigated using the MFT-R 4000-high-speed reciprocating friction and wear tester.

Tribochemical interactions between Zndtp, Modtc and calcium borate
Tribology Letters, 2000Tribochemical interactions between antiwear zinc dithiophosphate (Zndtp), friction modifier molybdenum dithiocarbamate (Modtc) and overbased detergent calcium borate (OCB) lubricant additives have been investigated. Friction tests were performed in mild wear conditions under boundary lubrication, in order to enhance tribochemical surface effects.

Synergistic Effects of MoDTC and Overbased Calcium Sulfonate Additive
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The synergetic effects of molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate (MoDTC) and overbased liner alkyl benzene synthetic calcium sulfonate (OBCaS) on the tribological performance of lubricant were investigated using reciprocating ball-on-disk sliding friction tester. The results showed that the two kinds of additives with a certain range of concent ration could

MoS2 Production Mechanism of MoDTC
2012Automotive industries have strong interest in fuel economy. To enhance fuel economy, engine oils need to employ effective friction modifiers (FM). Molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) is one of FM and superior in friction reduction performance to other FM especially in boundary lubrication regime.
