Approximate Modularity

2015 IEEE 56th Annual Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science, 2015
A set function on a ground set of size n is approximately modular if it satisfies every modularity requirement to within an additive error, approximate modularity is the set analog of approximate linearity. In this paper we study how close, in additive error, can approximately modular functions be to truly modular functions.

Modular enzymes

Nature, 2001
Although modular macromolecular devices are encountered frequently in a variety of biological situations, their occurrence in biocatalysis has not been widely appreciated. Three general classes of modular biocatalysts can be identified: enzymes in which catalysis and substrate specificity are separable, multisubstrate enzymes in which binding sites for

Modular headache theory

Cephalalgia, 2001
Many people experience headaches that do not fulfil the International Headache Society's criteria for a specific headache disorder yet behave biologically like that disorder. Others fulfil criteria for one headache disorder and yet have features of another disorder.

Modular Junctions

Orthopedics, 2005
abstract A concern about modular stems is that the taper will not provide an adequate seal, causing the stem distal to the taper to become part of the effective joint space. In this study, 380 primary patients and 309 revision patients were treated with a proximally modular stem. Follow-up was between 5 and 17 years (mean 9.4 years).

Modular points, modular curves, modular surfaces and modular forms

1985
[For the entire collection see Zbl 0547.00007.] \\par This is the written version of a talk at the Arbeitstagung at Bonn. It is centered around one example: the modular curve X\\sb 0(37). The elliptic curve E:\\quad y(y-1)=(x+1)x(x-1) is a factor of the Jacobian J\\sb 0(37).

International modularity

Since its inception in the 1990s, research on modularity has expanded along changes in technological markets, such as the increasing pace of innovation and the reduction in prior forms of coordination. One main contribution of research has been to show numerous instances of modularity’s influence on competition.

Modular Wheelchair

Engineering in Medicine, 1975
A wheelchair designed primarily with children in mind, but also eminently suitable for the differing needs of disabled adults, is the result of several years' work by two design students
