Computations on Modular Jacobian Surfaces

open access: yes, 2002
We give a method for finding rational equations of genus 2 curves whose jacobians are abelian varieties $A_f$ attached by Shimura to normalized newforms $f \in S_2( Γ_0(N))$. We present all the curves corresponding to principally polarized surfaces $A_f$ for $N\leq500$.

Computing the modular inverses is as simple as computing the GCDs

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 2008
The authors propose a new algorithm being a variation of the Euclidean Algorithm (EA), used to calculate the greatest common divisors (GCDs) of two integers and inverses for polynomials. They prove some essential features of their new version of EA and show usefulness of their proposal in cryptographic systems.

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Feature selection for modular GA-based classification

open access: yes, 2004
Genetic algorithms (GAs) have been used as conventional methods for classifiers to adaptively evolve solutions for classification problems. Feature selection plays an important role in finding relevant features in classification.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Explaining Semantics and Extension Membership in Abstract Argumentation

open access: yesIntelligent Systems with Applications, 2022
This paper explores the computation of explanations in the specific context of abstract argumentation. The explanations that we define are designed to be visual, in the sense that they take the form of subgraphs of the argumentation graph.

Computer condensation of modular representations

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 1990
This paper contains a general account on the ideas of computer condensation of modular representations, a method to be used in order to construct large matrix representations of finite groups G over fields F with characteristic \(p>0\). (The first condensation programs were written by Parker and Thackray in 1979.) Let V be a finitely generated FG ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
