Tecnología modular multilevel converter (MMC) en sistemas HVDC
En este trabajo de grado se presenta una caracterización de la tecnología de punta que se está utilizando actualmente en los sistemas de transmisión HVDC. Ésta se conoce como tecnología MMC (Modular Multilevel Converter) y proporciona grandes beneficios y alternativas para las estaciones convertidoras utilizadas en los sistemas HVDC.

Cryo-MMC - a Modular Multilevel Converter with Superconducting Coupled Arm Coils
In this thesis, we study a Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) with high temperature superconducting (HTS) directly-coupled arm coils that we proposed to call cryo-MMC. We design directly-coupled HTS arm coils and their cooling system for a cryo-MMC in a point-to-point high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) link rated at ±320 kV and 1 GW.

Closed-loop control and data- recording of a modular-multilevel converter (MMC)
Modular multilevel converters (MMCs) are the preferred converter solution in flexible ac transmission systems (FACTS) and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) applications. This is due to the high quality of the voltage and current signals, lower overall losses, and fewer problems with switching-related EMI.
