Frequency response of certain temporal and complex transfer functions for the Interfacial 1D temperature wave

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mécanique, 2023
This note is concerned with the dynamics of 1D temperature waves generated by time modulation of a boundary heat flux. It demonstrates how a certain temporal transfer function of both parabolic and low frequency hyperbolic interfacial temperature waves ...

Analysis of resolution properties for three generations of MV imagers in radiation therapy using the modulation transfer function

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2017
Imaging in radiation therapy has become an important part of clinical routine. In order to evaluate and compare the image quality of verification images from different imaging modalities, one needs objective criteria like the modulation transfer function

Effect of dipole-quadrupole Robinson mode coupling upon the beam response to radio-frequency phase noise

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2006
In an electron storage ring, coupling between dipole and quadrupole Robinson oscillations modifies the spectrum of longitudinal beam oscillations driven by radio-frequency (rf) generator phase noise. In addition to the main peak at the resonant frequency

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

Autofocusing Method Based on Dynamic Modulation Transfer Function Feedback

open access: yesPhotonics
Accurate measurement of key optical system parameters (such as focal length, distortion, and modulation transfer function (MTF)) depends critically on obtaining sharp images.

Light-activated modulation and coupling in integrated polymer-liquid crystal systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We explore the transfer of an incident light pattern onto the liquid crystal (LC) bulk in a photorefractive cell through an integrated photoconducting layer that modulates the electric field applied to the device.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Development and Testing of a Compact Autorefractor Based on Double-Pass Imaging

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Autorefraction is an objective way to determine the refractive error of the eye, without the need for feedback by the patient or a well-educated practitioner.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
