Analytical model for calculating the nonlinear distortion in silicon-based electro-optic Mach-Zehnder modulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this study, an analytical model for calculating the nonlinear harmonic/intermodulation distortion for RF signals in silicon-based electro-optic modulators is investigated by considering the nonlinearity on the effective index change curve with the ...

Memory modulation. [PDF]

open access: yesBehavioral Neuroscience, 2008
Our memories are not all created equally strong: Some experiences are well remembered while others are remembered poorly, if at all. Research on memory modulation investigates the neurobiological processes and systems that contribute to such differences in the strength of our memories.

Metal Electrodes for Filtering the Localized Fundamental Mode of a Ridge Optical Waveguide on a Thin Lithium Niobate Nanofilm

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
An approach for filtering the fundamental mode in an integrated optical modulator with multimode waveguides based on etched thin lithium niobate nanofilms is presented.

Ethnomedicine-based discovery and characterization of plant-derived GABAΑ receptor modulators with new scaffolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system (CNS) largely relies on the actions of gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) on GABAA receptors, heteropentameric ligand-gated chloride channels assembled from 19 possible subunits (α1-6, β1-3, γ1-3, δ,

Benzimidazoisoquinoline derivatives inhibit glioblastoma cell proliferation through down-regulating Raf/MEK/ERK and PI3K/AKT pathways

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2018
Background Recent studies showed that benzimidazoleisoquinolinone derivatives exhibit anticancer activity against human cancer cell lines. The aim of this study is to evaluate the anti-tumor effects and mechanisms of benzimidazoleisoquinolinones in ...

Identification of Modulators of the C. elegans Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor and Characterization of Transcriptomic and Metabolic AhR-1 Profiles

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2022
The Aryl hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) is a xenobiotic sensor in vertebrates, regulating the metabolism of its own ligands. However, no ligand has been identified to date for any AhR in invertebrates. In C.

$D$-module and $F$-module length of local cohomology modules [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2018
Let $R$ be a polynomial or power series ring over a field $k$. We study the length of local cohomology modules $H^j_I(R)$ in the category of $D$-modules and $F$-modules. We show that the $D$-module length of $H^j_I(R)$ is bounded by a polynomial in the degree of the generators of $I$.

Variability modules

open access: yesJournal of Systems and Software, 2023
A Software Product Line (SPL) is a family of similar programs, called variants, generated from a common artifact base. A Multi SPL (MPL) is a set of interdependent SPLs: each variant can depend on variants from other SPLs. MPLs are challenging to model and to implement efficiently, especially when different variants of the same SPL must coexist and ...

Sheaves as Modules [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Categorical Structures, 2008
We revisit sheaves on locales by placing them in the context of the theory of quantale modules. The local homeomorphisms $p:X\to B$ are identified with the Hilbert $B$-modules that are equipped with a natural notion of basis. The homomorphisms of these modules are necessarily adjointable, and the resulting self-dual category yields a description of the
