Enhancing the Out-of-Plane Compressive Performance of Lightweight Polymer Foam Core Sandwiches
This study investigates the flatwise compressive performance of the developed sandwiches with core stitching modification. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foam cores with a density of 0.048 g/cm3 were stitched with 600-tex glass fiber yarns.

Motives with modulus, I: Modulus sheaves with transfers for non-proper modulus pairs [PDF]
We develop a theory of modulus sheaves with transfers, which generalizes Voevodsky's theory of sheaves with transfers. This paper and its sequel are foundational for the theory of motives with modulus, which is developed in [KMSY20].

Elaborating an instrumented nanoindentation is to exercise non-destructive tests to be applied to volumes of polymethylmetacrylate (PMMA) materials in miniature. This work focuses on factors that explain the trends variation of mechanical properties like

The theory and art of corneal cross-linking
Before the discovery of corneal cross-linking (CXL), patients with keratoconus would have had to undergo corneal transplantation, or wear rigid gas permeable lenses (RGPs) that would temporarily flatten the cone, thereby improving the vision.

Dielectric properties of calcium-substituted lanthanum ferrite
Among La1-xCaxFeO3-δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) compounds, the optimal value of the direct current conductivity was registered for a 20% substituted amount. We therefore attempted to study the impedance and dielectric properties of 20% calcium-substituted lanthanum ...

Motives with modulus, II: Modulus sheaves with transfers for proper modulus pairs [PDF]
We develop a theory of sheaves and cohomology on the category of proper modulus pairs. This complements [KMSY21], where a theory of sheaves and cohomology on the category of non-proper modulus pairs has been developed.

Mechanical Anisotropy in Austenitic NiMnGa Alloy: Nanoindentation Studies
: Mechanical anisotropy in an austenitic ferromagnetic shape memory alloy (SMA), Ni50Mn26.25Ga23.75, is investigated along (010), (120), (121), (231) and (232) using nanoindentation. While (010) exhibits the highest reduced modulus, Er, and hardness, H, (

Rheological Properties of Bitumens from the Perspective their Chemical Composition
The quality of bituminous binders is commonly evaluated by the empirical tests. The functional approach to the evaluation of bitumen properties is a trend that has been applied in the last years.

An Accuracy Problem of the Fwd Time History with Regard to the Application of the Sasw Method
A Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) represents one group of the devices used for diagnostics of pavement bearing capacity. Usually, the FWD dynamic load is substituted by a static load in the evaluation process to determine the equivalent modulus of a ...
