Dielectric properties of calcium-substituted lanthanum ferrite

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2020
Among La1-xCaxFeO3-δ (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) compounds, the optimal value of the direct current conductivity was registered for a 20% substituted amount. We therefore attempted to study the impedance and dielectric properties of 20% calcium-substituted lanthanum ...

On 0-cycles with modulus [PDF]

open access: yesAlgebra & Number Theory, 2015
Given a smooth surface $X$ over a field and an effective Cartier divisor $D$, we provide an exact sequence connecting $CH_0(X,D)$ and the relative $K$-group $K_0(X,D)$. We use this exact sequence to answer a question of Kerz and Saito whenever $X$ is a resolution of singularities of a normal surface.

The modulus of Whittaker functions [PDF]

open access: yesIntegral Transforms and Special Functions, 2020
The paper discusses some properties of the modulus $|W_{k,m}(z)|$ of the Whittaker function $W_{k,m}(z)$. In particular, completely monotone functions expressed in terms of $|W_{k,m}(z)|$ are found. The results follow from an integral representation for products of Whittaker functions due to Erd lyi (1938).

Mechanical Anisotropy in Austenitic NiMnGa Alloy: Nanoindentation Studies

open access: yesCrystals, 2017
: Mechanical anisotropy in an austenitic ferromagnetic shape memory alloy (SMA), Ni50Mn26.25Ga23.75, is investigated along (010), (120), (121), (231) and (232) using nanoindentation. While (010) exhibits the highest reduced modulus, Er, and hardness, H, (

Saddle-splay modulus of a particle-laden fluid interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The scaled-particle theory equation of state for the two-dimensional hard-disk fluid on a curved surface is proposed and used to determine the saddle-splay modulus of a particle-laden fluid interface. The resulting contribution to saddle-splay modulus, which is caused by thermal motion of the adsorbed particles, is comparable in magnitude with the ...

Rheological Properties of Bitumens from the Perspective their Chemical Composition

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering, 2019
The quality of bituminous binders is commonly evaluated by the empirical tests. The functional approach to the evaluation of bitumen properties is a trend that has been applied in the last years.

On relation between statistical ideal and ideal generated by a modulus function [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We characterize those modulus functions $f$ for which the ideal generated by $f$ is equal to the statistical ideal.

On the Maximum Modulus of Polynomials

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1994
AbstractA well-known result of Rivlin states that if p(z) is a polynomial of degree n, such that p(z) ≠ 0 in |z| < 1, then max|z| = r < 1 |p(z)| ≥ ((r + 1)/2)n max|z| = 1 |p(z)|. In this paper, we prove a generalization and refinements of this result.

Elasticity of Diametrically Compressed Microfabricated Woodpile Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Modulus–porosity relationship is derived for woodpile lattices with struts under diametrical compression. The formula presented here that Young's modulus is proportional to the square of the volume fraction E˜ρ2$E \sim \left(\rho\right)^{2}$ is shown to be consistent with computations and laboratory experiments on 3D‐printed samples.
