The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

This study investigates thermo‐chemical processes during high‐temperature testing of two commercial MgO‐C brick grades, one containing 47.5 wt.% MgO‐C recyclate. Using ETV, DTA/TG‐MS, XRD, and SEM/EDS/EBSD, mechanisms such as carbothermal reduction of magnesia, impurity incorporation into the secondary MgO surface layer, and calcium‐rich phase ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Interaction of Ladle Slag With Varying SiO2 Content and Recyclate‐Based MgO–C Refractories
Ladle slags (CaO/Al2O3 = 1) with 1–20 wt% SiO2 were investigated in contact with industrial MgO–C refractories fabricated from fresh magnesia and 50 wt% recyclate. The sessile drop method at 1600°C reveals intensive gas formation, delayed slag infiltration in recyclate‐based samples, and, under high‐SiO2 slag, formation of a dense MgAl2O4‐rich ...

Fibonacci difference sequence spaces for modulus functions
In the present paper we introduce Fibonacci difference sequence spaces l(F, Ƒ, p, u) and l_∞(F, Ƒ, p, u) by using a sequence of modulus functions and a new band matrix F.

$f$-Asymptotically $\mathcal{I}_{\sigma\theta}$-Equivalence of Real Sequences
In this manuscript, we present the ideas of asymptotically $[{\mathcal{I}_{\sigma\theta}}]$-equivalence, asymptotically ${\mathcal{I}_{\sigma\theta}}(f)$-equivalence, asymptotically $[{\mathcal{I}_{\sigma\theta}}(f)]$-equivalence and asymptotically ...

In this paper, we introduce a relatively new class, $\mathcal{\mathcal{B}}_{1}^\beta(\alpha)$, namely the class of Beta-Bazilevi\v{c} function is generated by the function Bazilevi\v{c} $\mathcal{B}_{1}(\alpha)$.

Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.
