A New Method To Estimate Modulus Of Elasticity And Modulus Of Rupture Of Glulam I-Joist

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
Glulam consists of laminaes and each laminae influences glulam’s strength. Transformed cross section (TCS) method is a well known method to calculate the modulus of elasticity (E) and modulus of rupture (SR) of glulam. However, the TCS does not follow the principles due to its assumption that the material properties depend on its shape and size ...

Modelling the variation in modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture of Scots pine round timber

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2010
Recovery from the forest-wood chain is directly influenced by how different qualities of logs are used. Logs used directly as load-carrying members in structures are products in which MOE (modulus of elasticity when bending) and MOR (modulus of rupture) are of great importance.

A MODULUS OF RUPTURE CHART FOR CYLINDRICAL TEST PIECES*

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1932
ABSTRACT A three‐variable alignment chart is presented which has been found useful for the solution of the modulus of rupture equation for cylindrical test pieces. The chart is easily prepared and its use eliminates routine calculations. Factors affecting the accuracy are mentioned.

THE EFFECTS OF SOME IMPREGNATION PARAMETERS ON MODULUS OF RUPTURE AND MODULUS OF ELASTICITY OF WOOD

2020
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of some impregnation parameters such as impregnation chemicals, impregnation durations, and impregnation methods on modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) of Oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) and Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.).

The Modulus of Rupture from a Mathematical Point of View

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
The goal of this work is to present a complete mathematical study about the three‐point bending experiments and the modulus of rupture of brittle materials. We will present the mathematical model associated to three‐point bending experiments and we will use the asymptotic expansion method to obtain a new formula to calculate the modulus of rupture.
