Moho Depth of Northern Baja California, Mexico, From Teleseismic Receiver Functions

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2021
We estimated Moho depths from data recorded by permanent and temporary broadband seismic stations deployed in northern Baja California, Mexico, using the receiver function technique. This region is composed of two subregions of contrasting geological and

Heat and Tectonics of the Canadian Cordillera From the Seismically Constrained Inversion of Gravity Data

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract An updated approach to seismically constrained modeling of gravity data reveals two broad, NW‐trending low‐density zones in the mantle lithosphere beneath the Canadian Cordillera. The low‐density zones coincide with a shallow lithosphere‐asthenosphere boundary (LAB), a shallow Curie‐point depth, and the location of Quaternary volcanoes.

Moho Density Contrast in Central Eurasia from GOCE Gravity Gradients

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2016
Seismic data are primarily used in studies of the Earth’s inner structure. Since large parts of the world are not yet sufficiently covered by seismic surveys, products from the Earth’s satellite observation systems have more often been used for this ...

Harry Hess and sea-floor spreading [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Harry Hess's hypothesis of sea-floor spreading brought together his long-standing interests in island arcs, oceanic topography, and the oceanic crust. The one unique feature of Hess's hypothesis was the origin of the oceanic crust as a hydration rind on ...

Convergent flow in a two-layer system and mountain building [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
With the purpose of modelling the process of mountain building, we investigate the evolution of the ridge produced by the convergent motion of a system consisting of two layers of liquids that differ in density and viscosity to simulate the crust and the

Sexuality in the field of occupational therapy: A scoping review

open access: yesAustralian Occupational Therapy Journal, Volume 73, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Introduction While sexuality is gaining recognition as a relevant domain of occupational therapy practice, the scope of empirical research involving occupational therapy practitioners or students in relation to sexuality remains unclear. This study aimed to map the extent and focus of this research. Methods A scoping review was conducted using

A Novel Iterative Stable Algorithm for Global Moho Modeling in the Spherical Harmonic Domain

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
The Mohorovičić discontinuity (Moho) marks the boundary between Earth's crust and the underlying mantle, serving as a critical interface for understanding Earth's structure, composition, and geodynamic processes.

Petrochemical and petrophysical characterization of the lower crust and the Moho beneath the West African Craton, based on Xenoliths from Kimberlites [PDF]

open access: yes
Additional evidence to the composition of the lower crust and uppermost mantle was presented in the form of xenolith data. Xenoliths from the 2.7-Ga West African Craton indicate that the Moho beneath this shield is a chemically and physically gradational

Crustal structure below Popocat\'epetl Volcano (Mexico) from analysis of Rayleigh waves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
An array of ten broadband stations was installed on the Popocat\'epetl volcano (Mexico) for five months between October 2002 and February 2003. 26 regional and teleseismic earthquakes were selected and filtered in the frequency time domain to extract the
