Moisture dynamics and fungal susceptibility of plywood [PDF]
Engineered wood products are widely used in construction and transportation. Plywood has one of the best physical and mechanical properties for application under moist conditions in use class 3, i.e. exterior exposure without ground contact. Yet a profound knowledge of their moisture dynamics and fungal susceptibility is a prerequisite for proper use ...

Properties of stone mastic asphalt incorporating nano titanium as binder's modifier [PDF]
Stone mastic asphalt is a gap-graded mix and is usually related to its high bitumen content and its skeleton-like constitution. Although famous for its durability, high resistance to fatigue and rutting, issues such as bleeding and premature aging do ...

Investigation of nano ulexite mineral effects on mechanical behaviour of warm mix asphalt pavements
The research presented in the paper shows that further investigations on additives used in the warm mix asphalt technology are needed. It was observed that the negative effect of adhesion loss in asphalt mixes produced by warm process can be reduced by ...

Effect of Moisturizers on Skin Susceptibility to Irritants
Moisturizers are used for the treatment of dry and irritated skin. The benefit of moisturizers when used on normal skin has recently been challenged, since an earlier study indicated that the increased hydration that follows long-term use of moisturizers on normal skin may facilitate penetration of irritants.

Effect of a Moisturizer on Skin Susceptibility to NiCl 2
The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a moisturizer used on normal skin can increase skin response to allergens. Twelve nickel-allergic volunteers applied a lipid-rich moisturizer on the upper arm 3 times daily for 7 days, while the other upper arm served as a control. A control group followed the same treatment protocol.

Effects of Zycotherm on Moisture Susceptibility of Bituminous Mix
Moisture damage is one of the major causes of deterioration of asphalt pavement, which may lead to stripping which leads to reduction in pavement service life. The use of anti-stripping additives is the general way to improve the moisture resistance of asphalt mixture.
