Penicillium verrucosum occurrence and Ochratoxin A contents in organically cultivated grain with special reference to ancient wheat types and drying practice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This study addresses the relationship between the ochratoxigenic strains of Penicillium verrucosum and ochratoxin A (OTA) contents in organically cultivated grain. It included 37 combined, non-dried grain samples from farmers with no drying facilities as

Effect of a Moisturizer on Skin Susceptibility to NiCl 2

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 2003
The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a moisturizer used on normal skin can increase skin response to allergens. Twelve nickel-allergic volunteers applied a lipid-rich moisturizer on the upper arm 3 times daily for 7 days, while the other upper arm served as a control. A control group followed the same treatment protocol.

Properties of WMA–foam mixes based on major mechanical tests / Šiltai maišyto asfalto mišinių, gaminamų pagal putoto bitumo technologiją (WMA-Foam), savybės remiantis pagrindiniais mechaniniais bandymais

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2011
One of the main advantages of warm mix asphalt (WMA) used as an alternative to conventional hot mix asphalt (HMA), is to reduce mixing and compaction temperatures. This laboratory study was conducted with the aim of determining physical properties of WMA

Moisture susceptibility evaluation of Hot Mix Asphalt: combined effect of traffic and moisture

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pavement Research and Technology, 2019
To date, most of the studies to evaluate moisture susceptibility of hot mix asphalt have been carried out by quantifying the degradation of the mix properties due to conditioning that simulates the action of moisture in the field. There is a need for research on the identification of moisture susceptible mixes which show the material loss in the wheel ...

Innovative methods for quantifying the moisture susceptibility of asphalt mixtures

open access: yesJournal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering (English ed. Online)
Moisture damage in asphalt mixtures can cause early cracking and rutting failures due to the internal damage accumulated by the high internal pore pressures created at the aggregate-binder interface and/or within the binder phase by heavy traffic loads ...

Moisture Susceptibility of Hot Mix Asphalt Mixtures Modified by Nano Silica and Subjected to Aging Process

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2023
Moisture damage is described as a reduction in stiffness and strength durability in asphalt mixtures due to moisture. This study investigated the influence of adding nano silica (NS) to the Asphalt on the moisture susceptibility of hot-mix-asphalt (HMA)

Modelling and evaluating moisture susceptibility of laboratory prepared asphalt concrete mixtures

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2022
Moisture susceptibility, one of the key reasons of asphalt concrete (AC) pavement deterioration, lowers the durability of AC pavements. Analyzing and evaluating the combined effect of aggregate gradation and asphalt on moisture susceptibility is critical
