Controlled carbonization of an Al‐MOF partially decomposes its linkers, exposing coordinatively unsaturated Al centers within an oxide/carbon composite. The resulting Lewis acid sites, rather than surface area, govern organochlorine capture: the composite removes chemically diverse organochlorines from waste plastic pyrolysis oil, outperforms a ...

Kinetics of moisturizing and firming effects of cosmetic formulations.
peer reviewedThe assessment of cosmetic efficacy is rarely performed in studies comparing different concentrations of active compounds. The aim of the present study was to determine the skin hydrating and the skin firming dose-response effects of ...

A spatial location of atomic layer deposition (ALD)‐derived ZrO2 coatings is demonstrated to be a critical design parameter for stabilizing graphite cathodes in DIBs. Direct particle‐level ALD (PALD) screening of representative metal oxides identified ZrO2 as the coating that provides the most favorable balance of high‐rate capability and interfacial ...

Solvent‐composition‐controlled film formation enables high‐performance (efficiency = 18.66%) and air‐stable terpene‐processed organic solar cells. An optimized eucalyptol/tetralin ratio of 50:50 (v/v) balances molecular solvation and aggregation kinetics, producing favorable nanoscale phase separation and vertical composition gradients.

Changes in Oral Dryness of the Elderly in Need of Care: The Effect of Dentifrice with Oral Moisturizing Agents [PDF]
The aim of this study was to find a method for the elderly to cope with xerostomia and oral dryness. In particular, we investigated whether daily oral health care with a dentifrice that included a moisturizing agent could affect oral dryness.

A lead‐free tin‐based hybrid perovskite is designed in which stereochemically active lone‐pair electrons on tin distort the crystal lattice and break its symmetry. Blended into a flexible polymer, the material converts pressure into electricity at milliwatt‐scale power density and continues working far below freezing, powering a commercial wristwatch ...
