TCP-Like Molecular Communications [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2014
In this paper, we present a communication protocol between a pair of biological nanomachines, transmitter and receiver, built upon molecular communications in an aqueous environment. In our proposal, the receiver, acting as a control node, sends a connection setup signal to the transmitter, which stokes molecules, to start molecule transmission.

Effects of Environmental and Electric Perturbations on the pKa of Thioredoxin Cysteine 35: A Computational Study

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Here we present a theoretical-computational study dealing with the evaluation of the pKa of the Cysteine residues in Thioredoxin (TRX) and in its complex with the Thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP).

Molecular communication link [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2014
This demonstration will present the world's first macroscale molecular communication link to reliably transmit a continuous data stream. The system modulates alcohol molecules, which are then diffused via ambient and induced air currents to carry information to a receiver. The communication distance is several meters and the propagation channel we will

Communication: Molecular gears [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2016
The 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of hexamethylbenzene orientationally ordered in the nematic liquid crystal ZLI-1132 is analysed using covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy. The spectrum contains over 350 000 lines with many overlapping transitions, from which four independent direct dipolar couplings are obtained.

Artificial intelligence for molecular communication

open access: yesit - Information Technology, 2023
Abstract Molecular communication is a novel approach for data transmission between miniaturised devices, especially in contexts where electrical signals are to be avoided. The communication is based on sending molecules (or other particles) at nanoscale through a typically fluid channel instead of the “classical” approach of sending ...

Coding in Diffusion-Based Molecular Nanonetworks: A Comprehensive Survey

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Diffusion-based molecular nanonetworks exploit the diffusion of molecules, e.g., in free space or in blood vessels, for the purpose of communication. This article comprehensively surveys coding approaches for communication in diffusion-based molecular ...
