Asymmetrical Relaying in Molecular Communications

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience, 2022
Molecular communication via diffusion (MCvD) is a novel communication technique that uses the diffusive characteristics of molecules for enabling the communication between nanomachines. Since the molecules propagate following a random motion, MCvD schemes are usually limited to a short communication range.

Theoretical Aspects of Resting-State Cardiomyocyte Communication for Multi-Nodal Nano-Actuator Pacemakers

open access: yesSensors, 2020
The heart consists of billions of cardiac muscle cells—cardiomyocytes—that work in a coordinated fashion to supply oxygen and nutrients to the body. Inter-connected specialized cardiomyocytes form signaling channels through which the electrical signals ...

Irisin at the crossroads of inter-organ communications: Challenge and implications

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
The physiological functions of organs are intercommunicated occurring through secreted molecules. That exercise can improve the physiological function of organs or tissues is believed by secreting myokines from muscle to target remote organs.

Molecular MIMO communication link [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS), 2015
In this demonstration, we will present the world's first molecular multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication link to deliver two data streams in a spatial domain. We show that chemical signals such as concentration gradients could be used in MIMO fashion to transfer sequential data.

Forward error correction for molecular communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Communication between nanoscale devices is an area of considerable importance as it is essential that future devices be able to form nanonetworks and realise their full potential.

Special Issue—Advances in Molecular Communications: Theory, Experiment, and Application

open access: yes, 2021
Molecular communications (MC) broadly defines information exchange using (bio-)chemical signals over multiple scales. The research in this area addresses various fields where MC plays an important role.
