NMR methods for the fast recording of diffusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The time taken to complete an NMR diffusion experiment is typically ~10 minutes. For systems that rapidly evolve conventional pulsed field gradient spin-echo (PGSE) experiments cannot be used to obtain reliable estimates of molecular mobility.

High efficiency diffusion molecular retention tumor targeting. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Here we introduce diffusion molecular retention (DMR) tumor targeting, a technique that employs PEG-fluorochrome shielded probes that, after a peritumoral (PT) injection, undergo slow vascular uptake and extensive interstitial diffusion, with tumor ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Significance of Low‐Velocity Zones on Solute Retention in Rough Fractures

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Natural fractures are characterized by high internal heterogeneity. This internal variability is the cause of flow channeling, which in turn leads to contaminant transport taking place primarily along the high‐velocity channels. Mass exchange between the

Simulation and Sensitivity Analysis of CO2 Migration and Pressure Propagation Considering Molecular Diffusion and Geochemical Reactions in Shale Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesEnergies
Unconventional shale oil reservoirs, characterized by ultra-low porosity and permeability, severely constrain oil recovery. CO2-enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR) following hydraulic fracturing is an effective approach that combines incremental oil recovery
