Synthesis and ligand-based reduction chemistry of boron difluoride complexes with redox-active formazanate ligands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Mono(formazanate) boron difluoride complexes (LBF2), which show remarkably facile and reversible ligand-based redox-chemistry, were synthesized by transmetallation of bis(formazanate) zinc complexes with boron trifluoride.

Understanding the Surprising Oxidation Chemistry of Au−OH Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Au is known to be fairly redox inactive (in catalysis) and bind oxygen adducts only quite weakly. It is thus rather surprising that stable Au−OH complexes can be synthesized and used as oxidants for both one- and two-electron oxidations.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Structural Basis of the Immunological Cross-Reactivity between Kiwi and Birch Pollen

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Allergies related to kiwi consumption have become a growing health concern, with their prevalence on the rise. Many of these allergic reactions are attributed to cross-reactivity, particularly with the major allergen found in birch pollen.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Mechanistic insights in the olefin epoxidation with cyclohexyl hydroperoxide

open access: yes, 2012
Olefin epoxidation with cyclohexyl hydroperoxide offers great perspective in increasing the yield from industrial cyclohexane oxidation and the production of epoxides in an apolar medium.
