A molecular phylogenetic analysis of the “true thrushes” (Aves: Turdinae)
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2005The true thrushes (Passeriformes: Muscicapidae, subfamily Turdinae) are a speciose and widespread avian lineage presumed to be of Old World origin. Phylogenetic relationships within this assemblage were investigated using mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence data that included the cytochrome b and ND2 genes.

Molecular phylogenetic analysis of the family Chlorogomphidae (Odonata, Anisoptera)
Invertebrate SystematicsPhylogenetic analysis of the family Chlorogomphidae was carried out using two nuclear markers, the ITS and histone H3–H4 regions, and a barcoding fragment of the mitochondrial COI gene, using sequences obtained in this study and adopted from GenBank. Their joint analysis was performed using StarBEAST software.

Molecular phylogenetic analysis of methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase family of proteins
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2007Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) family of proteins catalyze the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. They contain a flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) as the cofactor and the enzyme in eukaryotes, except in yeast, is known to be allosterically regulated by S-adenosylmethionine.

Molecular Phylogenetic Analysis of Iranian HDV Complete Genome
Virus Genes, 2005Hepatitis D (delta) virus (HDV) is a subviral pathogen agent and a satellite of Hepatitis B virus. Three distinct genotypes are described for HDV; genotype I is distributed worldwide but other genotypes appear to be more restricted geographically. In the present study, the entire nucleotide sequence of an HDV isolate from an Iranian patient (IR-1) was ...

The Long and Winding Road of Molecular Data in Phylogenetic Analysis
Journal of the History of Biology, 2013The use of molecules and reactions as evidence, markers and/or traits for evolutionary processes has a history more than a century long. Molecules have been used in studies of intra-specific variation and studies of similarity among species that do not necessarily result in the analysis of phylogenetic relations.
