Densities of Solid and Molten Salt Hydrates and Their Mixtures and Viscosities of the Molten Salts

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2004
The densities of the salt hydrate phase-change materials (PCMs) crystalline ammonium alum (aluminum ammonium disulfate dodecahydrate), aluminum nitrate nonahydrate, and magnesium nitrate hexahydrate as well as their melts and of solid aluminum sulfate and magnesium acetate hydrates and anhydrous ammonium nitrate and sulfate were determined as a ...

CHAPTER 20. Volumetric Behaviour of Molten Salts and Molten Salt Hydrates

2014
The volumetric behaviour of molten salts and salt hydrates depends on their measured densities as functions of the temperature at ambient pressure. Ultrasound velocities are also needed for obtaining compressibility data. The methodology employed for these measurements, as it is applicable at elevated temperatures, is briefly described.

The Structure of Molten Salts

1987
A review of the structural properties of molten salts is presented, with special emphasis on the results of neutron scattering combined with the technique of isotopic substitution. The use of alternative structural methods based on EXAFS, anomalous scattering or isomorphic substitution is also discussed.
