Near-Infrared plasmon induced hot electron extraction evidence in an indium tin oxide nanoparticle / monolayer molybdenum disulphide heterostructure [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In this work, we observe plasmon induced hot electron extraction in a heterojunction between indium tin oxide nanocrystals and monolayer molybdenum disulphide. We study the sample with ultrafast differential transmission exciting the sample at 1750 nm where the intense localized plasmon surface resonance of the indium tin oxide nanocrystals is and ...

Chemical vapor deposition growth of bilayer graphene in between molybdenum disulfide sheets [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Colloid Interface Sci., 505 (2017) 776-782, 2017
Direct growth of flat micrometer-sized bilayer graphene islands in between molybdenum disulfide sheets is achieved by chemical vapor deposition of ethylene at about 800 {\deg}C. The temperature assisted decomposition of ethylene takes place mainly at molybdenum disulfide step edges.

Unsaturated Single Atoms on Monolayer Transition Metal Dichalcogenides for Ultrafast Hydrogen Evolution [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2020, 14 (1), 767-776, 2020
Large scale implementation of electrochemical water splitting for hydrogen evolution requires cheap and efficient catalysts to replace expensive platinum. Molybdenum disulfide is one of the most promising alternative catalysts but its intrinsic activity is still inferior to platinum.

Recent Advances in Molybdenum-Based Materials for Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesResearch, 2021
Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries as power supply systems possessing a theoretical energy density of as high as 2600 Wh kg−1 are considered promising alternatives toward the currently used lithium-ion batteries (LIBs).

Coupled molybdenum carbide and reduced graphene oxide electrocatalysts for efficient hydrogen evolution

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Electrochemical water splitting is one of the most economical and sustainable methods for large-scale hydrogen production. However, the development of low-cost and earth-abundant non-noble-metal catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction remains a ...

Incorporation of Molybdenum into the Iron-Molybdenum Cofactor of Nitrogenase [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1999
The biosynthesis of the iron-molybdenum cofactor (FeMo-co) of dinitrogenase was investigated using 99Mo to follow the incorporation of Mo into precursors. 99Mo label accumulates on dinitrogenase only when all known components of the FeMo-co synthesis system, NifH, NifNE, NifB-cofactor, homocitrate, MgATP, and reductant, are present.

Porous molybdenum carbide nano-octahedrons synthesized via confined carburization in metal-organic frameworks for efficient hydrogen production

open access: yesNature Communications, 2015
Electrochemical water splitting has been considered as a promising approach to produce clean and sustainable hydrogen fuel. However, the lack of high-performance and low-cost electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction hinders the large-scale ...

Preparation of Mo–Ni alloys by spark plasma sintering

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Mo−Ni alloys were prepared by spark plasma sintering. The effects of sintering temperature, pressure, holding time, and heating rate on the relative density of Mo−Ni alloys were studied.

Rotational barrier of a molybdenum-molybdenum quadruple bond [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1984
The synthesis and characterization of molybdenum(II) porphyrin dimers containing unbridged metal-metal quadruple bonds are presented. Variable temperature 300 MHz 1 H NMR studies of meso -substituted derivatives provide novel solution evidence for both the existence of quadruple bonds and for
