Integration of Refractive Microlenses on BP/MoS2 Photodiodes for Enhanced Infrared Photodetection

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the successful integration of black phosphorus/molybdenum disulfide infrared photodetectors with refractive microlenses to significantly enhance detection. The design achieves a 20‐fold photocurrent enhancement, enabling a room‐temperature detectivity of 1.83 × 109 cmHz1/2W−1, and demonstrates high‐resolution (1023 × 768) single‐

Mechanism‐Guided Engineering of Upconversion Nanoparticles for Antibacterial Phototherapy: From Photonic Principles to Translational Nanosystems

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review provides a systematic overview of the field of antibacterial PhotoDynamic Therapy (aPDT) triggered by upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), focusing on the mechanisms and the key factors that define their efficacy for generating bactericidal species upon NIR‐light activation.

Anomalous Sub‐Band Gap Emission at Room Temperature in Mixed‐Dimensional WS2/Cu2O Heterostructures

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Monolayer WS2 on Cu2O produces a room‐temperature sub‐bandgap emission from the hybrid interface. Spectroscopy and electrical bias measurements indicate that this emission arises primarily from WS2‐modified Cu2O defect states rather than interlayer excitons.

Multifunctional Nanoreactor Based on Catalyst Surface Engineering Combines pH‐Adaptive Catalysis With Tumor Microenvironment Modulation for Synergistic Chemodynamic‐Chemotherapy

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A folate‐targeted Fe2O3@MoS2‐Pt/FA nanoreactor creates a localized acidic catalytic interface while simultaneously elevating intracellular H2O2 and consuming GSH. This dual regulation of reaction conditions and substrate availability markedly enhances Fenton‐driven chemodynamic therapy and synergistic chemotherapy for efficient tumor eradication ...

Ionic Liquids at the Interface With the Transition Metal Dichalcogenide MoS2: Effect of the Chemical Structure on Induced Charge Carrier Density

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Ionic liquid gating of MoS2 channels using [EMIM][TFSI] or [EMIM][BF4] can lead to different carrier densities. [TFSI]‐based systems exhibit steeper voltage decay (compared to [BF4]‐based systems) meaning the potential drops more rapidly across the electric double layer, indicating stronger local electric fields and more efficient charge accumulation ...
