Parametric Compact Models by Directional Moment Matching

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
A novel approach is proposed for generating parametric compact models of passive linear electrical networks. The resulting method removes the main drawbacks of previous techniques.

A Moment Matching Approach for Generating Synthetic Data

Big Data, 2016
Synthetic data are becoming increasingly important mechanisms for sharing data among collaborators and with the public. Multiple methods for the generation of synthetic data have been proposed, but many have short comings with respect to maintaining the statistical properties of the original data.

Momente, Matching und Merkmale

2014

Blind source separation based on moments matching

Proceedings of the Eighth International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2005., 2006
Blind source separation (BSS) is a fundamental and challenging problem in signal processing. A new method based on the fractional moments and simulated annealing is presented in this paper. Fractional moments are used as a new measure of separation criterion contrary to the traditional integer moments.

Moment matching for linear port Hamiltonian systems

IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011
The problem of moment matching with preservation of port Hamiltonian structure is tackled. Based on the time-domain approach to linear moment matching, we characterize the (subset of) port Hamiltonian models from the set of parameterized models that match the moments of a given port Hamiltonian system, at a set of finite points.

Generative Moment Matching Autoencoder with Perceptual Loss

2017
In deep generative networks, one of the major challenges is to generate non-blurry, clearer images. Unlike the generative adversarial networks, generative models such as variational autoencoders, generative moment matching networks etc. use pixel-wise loss which leads to the generation of blurry images.

The Incredible Flexibility of Moment Matching

We ask how far the choice of which moments to match can push estimates in misspecified structural models. The answer is: very far. Under regularity conditions, an adversarial researcher informed about the data distribution can choose moments that render any parameter value the unique solution to the population moment-matching problem. Moreover, in many

Model reduction by moment matching for nonlinear systems

2008 47th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2008
The problem of model reduction by moment matching for nonlinear systems is addressed and solved using the recently introduced notion of moment for nonlinear systems. It is shown that reduced order models can be parameterized by a free mapping which, in turn, can be used so that the model possesses specific properties, e.g.
