Multi-moment maps [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2012
We introduce a notion of moment map adapted to actions of Lie groups that preserve a closed three-form. We show existence of our multi-moment maps in many circumstances, including mild topological assumptions on the underlying manifold. Such maps are also shown to exist for all groups whose second and third Lie algebra Betti numbers are zero.

Homotopy moment maps [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2016
Associated to any manifold equipped with a closed form of degree >1 is an `L-infinity algebra of observables' which acts as a higher/homotopy analog of the Poisson algebra of functions on a symplectic manifold. In order to study Lie group actions on these manifolds, we introduce a theory of homotopy moment maps.

Rational Singularities for Moment Maps of Totally Negative Quivers [PDF]

open access: yesTransformation Groups
We prove that the zero-fiber of the moment map of a totally negative quiver has rational singularities. Our proof consists in generalizing dimension bounds on jet spaces of this fiber, which were introduced by Budur.

Common and distinct neural correlates of social interaction processing and theory of mind in narratives [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Social interaction processing and theory of mind (ToM) frequently co-occur, but their commonalities and distinctions at behavioral and neural levels remain unclear.

Toeplitz Operators on Fock Space over Cn with Invariant Symbols under the Action of the Unit Circle

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
The first goal of this paper is to find a representation of the Fock space on Cn in terms of the weighted Bergman spaces of the projective spaces CPn−1; i.e., every function in the Fock space can be written as a direct sum of elements in weighted Bergman

Generalising G2 geometry: involutivity, moment maps and moduli

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We analyse the geometry of generic Minkowski N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1, D = 4 flux compactifications in string theory, the default backgrounds for string model building. In M-theory they are the natural string theoretic extensions of G2 holonomy manifolds.

The linearisation of maps in data assimilation [PDF]

open access: yesTellus: Series A, Dynamic Meteorology and Oceanography, 2013
For the purpose of linearising maps in data assimilation, the tangent-linear approximation is often used. We compare this with the use of the ‘best linear’ approximation, which is the linear map that minimises the mean square error.

Heterotic backgrounds via generalised geometry: moment maps and moduli

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We describe the geometry of generic heterotic backgrounds preserving minimal supersymmetry in four dimensions using the language of generalised geometry.

Estimating the Net Magnetic Moment of Geological Samples From Planar Field Maps Using Multipoles

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2023
Recent advances in magnetic microscopy have enabled studies of geological samples whose weak and spatially nonuniform magnetizations were previously inaccessible to standard magnetometry techniques.

SEISMIC VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT FOR BUILDINGS OF PORT BLAIR CITY USING RAPID VISUAL SCREENING AS A TOOL

open access: yesInternational Journal for Computational Civil and Structural Engineering, 2023
Andaman and Nicobar Islands is one of the most earthquake experienced areas around the world subjected to frequent earthquakes which is being the area of study using rapid visual screening (RVS) method by google maps and field visit as well.
