Blind Digital Modulation Identification Using an Efficient Method-of-Moments Estimator

Wireless Personal Communications, 2020
The automatic identification of the modulation format of a detected signal is a major task of an intelligent receiver in both military and civilian applications. It is well known that the maximum likelihood (ML) classifier requires a priori knowledge of the incoming signal and channel (including amplitude, timing information, noise power, and the roll ...

Modulation classification by means of different orders statistical moments

MILCOM 97 MILCOM 97 Proceedings, 2002
This paper deals with modulation classification of 4PSK (4 states phase shift keying) and 16QAM (16 states quadrature amplitude modulation) using a pattern recognition approach. The discriminating feature is build as an optimized combination of fourth and second order moments in order to maximize the probability of correct classification (P/sub /spl ...

Relative orientation of the magnetic moments in modulated multiferroic CaMn7O12

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2013
Abstract The modulated magnetic ordering in the multiferroic manganite CaMn 7 O 12 has been studied by using the neutron powder diffraction technique. The relative orientation of the magnetic moments of Mn 4+ and Mn 3+ ions located in Mn3 sublattice at (0,0,1/2) and Mn2 sublattice at (1/2,0,1/2) is shown to be antiparallel, i.e.

A Modulation Classification Using Joint Moments with Linear Transform

2007 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 2007
In this paper, a new modulation classification method based on joint moments and linear transform is proposed. In the method, the amplitude and phase of a received signal are linearly transformed, and then joint moments are used to classify modulations.

High sensitivity detection of radio-frequency modulated magnetic moment in semiconductors

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2011
An experimental setup has been realized to measure weak magnetic moments which can be modulated at radio frequencies (∼1–5 MHz). Using an optimized radio-frequency (RF) pickup coil and lock-in amplifier, an experimental sensitivity of 10−15 Am2 corresponding to 10−18 emu has been demonstrated with a 1 s time constant.

A New Hardware Module for Stereo Matching Using Zernike Moments

Third International Conference on Autonomic and Autonomous Systems (ICAS'07), 2007
This paper presents a new hardware module suitable for matching point features between two uncalibrated images of a scene with real-time response. A robust matching is established under a mixed geometric and moment-based correspondence strength function.

Sideband Double Modulation: The Ground State Dipole Moment of SiF4

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 1993
Abstract We have determined the centrifugal distortion dipole moment parameter μ 0 of silicon tetrafluoride from 76 IR transitions in the ν 3 fundamental. Applying the IR-IR double modulation technique we observed directly the linear Stark splitting of 28 rotational levels in the vibrational ground state and of 48 rotational levels in the v 3 ...

Automatic modulation classification using statistical moments and a fuzzy classifier

WCC 2000 - ICSP 2000. 2000 5th International Conference on Signal Processing Proceedings. 16th World Computer Congress 2000, 2002
This paper presents a new digital modulation recognition algorithm for classifying baseband signals in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise. An elaborated classification technique uses various statistical moments of the signal amplitude, phase, and frequency applied to the fuzzy classifier. Classification results are given and it is found that

Statistical moments of the transmittance of phase-only spatial light modulators

SPIE Proceedings, 1993
The monochromatic diffraction patterns from phase-only spatial light modulators, such as deformable mirror- and liquid crystal-SLMs, are routinely modeled using the fast Fourier transform. Random errors in phase have typically been evaluated by Monte Carlo analysis. This can require the averaging of numerous runs to find the expected value of intensity

Research on Modulation Classification of MQAM Signals Using Joint Moments

2010 Second International Conference on Communication Software and Networks, 2010
Automatic modulation classification (AMC) is a scheme to identify the data samples automatically. Usually, in wireless communication, especially through the Rayleigh fading channel, AMC performance will severe degrade. This paper presents a new method for AMC, using a modified Joint Power Estimation and modulation types of the transmitted signals by ...
